LASER CUTTING is a modern technology which is using a laser to cut with extreme precision though different materials. It was initially used in industrial manufacturing, but newer models and needs have helped this technology to reach smaller studios and to adjust to more smaller or dynamic projects.
The technology works by directing the laser output from a computer for precise and speedy execution. The material which is cut is either melted, burned, vaporized or simply blown away by a jet of gas, providing a high quality end product.
The advantages of laser cutting are many, especially over mechanical cutting and revolve around easier workholding and reduced contamination of workpiece.
The precision is also significally better and there is also a much lower chance of warping the material that is being cut. Some materials are basically impossible to cut without the laser.
